Please support our authors, so that they can continue creating!

Thanks to Y & M for this info <3

Also, a link to a list by @booksbyqianya and @7sweetcinnamon of translations that require proof of purchase (POP) to read! Please do support your authors by purchasing their books regardless if tler requires POP~! <3

Novels:

JJWXC 晋江文学城 is where most of the more popular danmei are hosted.
Payment options include PayPal ($17 min top-up, and only accessible on desktop), Apple Pay, and Alipay. Buying via the app (for Android and Apple users) will give you a substantial discount of ~50%. To illustrate, a book like QJJ would cost ~USD 5 for all the chapters, and something like Jinyiwei would be ~USD 1 or less. Conversion rate is better if you use Alipay instead of Apple Pay.

@fallingasaleaf on twitter made a small thread explaining the icons on the jjwxc page here

Changpei or 长佩文学 is another very popular site.

There are a lot of free novels, and generally, you only have to pay for half or less of the VIP chapters. The novels tend to be cheaper than on jjwxc.  Payment options are Apple Pay or Alipay. The conversion rate is better if you use Alipay.

You can tip the author and throw them starfish to boost their novel popularity ( you should get some free starfish when you log in / purchase changpei coins)

Myrics 米國度創作平台 is a Taiwanese website that hosts uncensored novels, and Qianya’s created a guide on how to set up an account and purchase novels. There are a lot of payment options including credit card / PayPal.

Haitang 海棠文化 is another Taiwanese site that hosts uncensored novels, and many authors post their smut chapters on this platform. They also have full novels. Many of the novels are free, but you can top up via WeChat, Taobao (specific stores), Paypal, Bank Transfer via ATM, HSBC Bank Account, and Post office deposit. There are specific instructions on which Taobao stores are official, and regardless of how you pay, you’re going to have to submit a recharge form to notify them how much you paid etc. The text has copy protection,so translation tools may not work on the site.

Readmoo is another Taiwanese website that sells ebooks, and audio dramas. They have their own proprietary line of e-readers called the mooInk.
If you purchase ebooks from them, you’ll need to read via their web version ,via their mooInk reader (similar to kindle or kobo devices), or download their App (Android/Apple device), they allow you to change the font, whether it’s the horizontal or vertical layout. There’s no option to change from traditional Chinese to simplified though.
Some books are limited to Taiwan purchases only (even ebooks), I generally buy them when I’m physically located in Taiwan. Not sure if VPNs will work for you.
Prices are similar to purchasing the physical book, but the savings are in shipping, and of course, you get it immediately.

Shubl  书耽官网. Shubl accepts in-app payments e.g. Alipay, WeChat, QQ, Union Pay (credit card), and mobile top-up card. I’d use Apple Pay, but you can use Alipay with a tourpass, they don’t accept foreign credit cards.

Go to the 充值中心 and click on any of the top-up amount boxes, it’ll automatically take you to your app store account. It should show the amount in your currency, and there’s a purchase button.
My fav novels on this site are all by Yiyiyiyi 伊依以翼, author of HSAV – but there are a lot of good novels here too.

iQiyi 爱奇艺小说 books (different from the media site). You can use Alipay, WeChat, or Bank payments. Many of the Shui Qian Cheng books including Wu Chang Jie, Blood Crown, etc are on this platform.

u/Corgi_booty kindly made a tutorial on how to earn points to read for free on this app, images here.

AllCP This is the old Changpei site before Gongzicp was established in 2017. It’s a forum where users can post work, and has an influx of NP (non 1v1) work recently. There are works with smut and other more taboo subjects.

sosadfun 废文网 This is a site run by writers/readers supported by Patreon who want to write without censorship. It has strict rules and it’s own forum. It’s difficult to get an account.

LCread 连城读书 Old site with a danmei section.

Weibo Some authors post on their own personal weibo pages, you can tip them if you register for an account. It’s a social media site that operates like Twitter. Most authors have an account there. and some even post their updates there too via screenshots. Useful for tracking the release schedule/preorder/sale of physical copies of novels or merch, joining supertopics of a specific novel/ship to consume fan content.

Lofter Mostly fanfiction, but occasionally there are authors who post their original works. Like Tumblr.
